About Megan

Born and raised in small-town Saskatchewan, Megan Wittig is a freelance singer who has appeared in numerous operatic productions, most notably The Marriage of Figaro (Susanna), Madama Butterfly (Suzuki), The Magic Flute (First Lady), and A Hand of Bridge (Sally and Geraldine). In addition to performing, Megan has taught voice lessons for fifteem years, specializing in classical, musical theatre, and CCM instruction. Many of Megan’s students have gone on to pursue careers in music and the arts.

 

Megan received her Bachelor of Music with Distinction (2012) and Master of Music (2015) from the University of Lethbridge under the mentorship of Dr. Blaine Hendsbee. Together with Lisa Stanford, Megan is a co-founder and co-artistic director of Little Lethbridge Opera Theatre which focuses on showcasing Southern Alberta musicians and creating fresh operatic and musical theatre interpretations. Their 2024 collaboration on The Sound of Music with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra ushered in a new era for Little Lethbridge, enabling community inclusion and artistic creation at a much larger scale.
